Are you passionate about creating unforgettable experiences and driving regional tourism? Orange City Council is seeking a dynamic Tourism Events Officer to help grow our visitor economy and deliver a vibrant calendar of events that showcase the best of the Orange region.
About the Role
As the Tourism Events Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Destination Management Plan and Economic Development Strategy. You’ll work closely with the Tourism Lead to promote the region, while also planning and executing high-quality Council and community events that enhance liveability and attract visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver diverse tourism and community events from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and community groups to ensure seamless event execution.
- Support local tourism operators and businesses with advice and initiatives.
- Monitor tourism trends and report on visitor statistics and economic impact.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, permits, and safety standards.
- Work with Councils Communications team to promote events through strategic marketing and communications.

What We’re Looking For
- A degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in planning and delivering successful events.
- Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A creative and inclusive approach to tourism and community engagement.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
