About the Role

As Risk Lead, you’ll be the driving force behind Council’s risk and business continuity frameworks. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, provide expert advice, and lead initiatives that embed a culture of proactive risk awareness and strategic thinking. Your work will directly influence Council’s ability to deliver safe, effective, and sustainable services to the Orange community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enterprise risk and business continuity strategies
  • Maintain and enhance Council’s risk management systems
  • Advise stakeholders and lead risk-related training and engagement
  • Report to senior leadership and the Audit, Risk & Improvement Committee
  • Drive continuous improvement and support organisational change

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant extensive experience 
  • Strong knowledge of ISO31000:2018 and relevant legislation
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proven ability to lead change and deliver strategic outcomes
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to public service
