Who Are We Looking for?

We’re seeking a motivated and experienced Greenkeeper Team Leader to join Orange City Council’s Parks and Gardens team. You’ll be passionate about maintaining high-quality turf and open spaces, with strong leadership skills to guide and support your crew. If you thrive outdoors, take pride in creating safe and vibrant community spaces, and have a hands-on approach to problem-solving, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, overseeing as well as undertaking the sports field preparation and maintenance
  • Assisting in the development, implementation and coordination of relevant programs relating to sports field surfaces
  • Supervising, leading and mentoring relevant staff and apprentices in order to undertake assigned works in a timely, cost effective and quality standard
  • Supporting the Sport and Recreation Supervisor to liaise with and assist sporting organisations and members of the community to ensure formal and informal sport and event requirements are met

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate III Sports Turf Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills that promote high team performance, with the ability to coach, mentor and manage staff
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role including working within turf care and sport field maintenance and in the coordination and planning of relevant programs
  • High level of verbal communication skills including the capacity to interact with the public while maintaining effective customer service and relationship management
  • Well-developed computer literacy skills in the use of a variety of computer software packages
  • Class MR driver licence is also desirable
