Job/Responsibilities
Council is currently looking for a mature, reliable, self-motivated person to join the City Presentation team as a Horticulture Assistant.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to work in the Horticulture field. We're looking for someone who has a strong work ethic and enjoys outdoor work. You'll also be adaptable, have the ability to follow direction and work as part of a small team.
To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- Experience in a similar role (e.g. landscape labouring, plant operation, garden maintenance)
- Experience in the use of plant (e.g. tractor operation with implements, small plant such as push mowers, brush cutter and hedge trimmers)
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision while also being able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
Experience working with the operation of load shifting plant (backhoe, front end loader and skid steer) will also be highly regarded, or a willingness to gain load shifting plant qualifications

So what do you need?
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- ChemCert AQF3 Chemical Accreditation or similar (or willingness to obtain)
The following qualifications will also be highly regarded:
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence
- Level 1 and 2 Chainsaw Operations certificates
- RMS Traffic Control Licences (Blue/Yellow Card)
