About the Role:
The Ophir Road Resource Recovery Centre, also known as the ORRRC, is where a number of key waste management operations take place and is also a valuable tool in waste diversion and resource recovery in Orange. This position will assist with the operations of the Recovery Shop, Community Recycling Centre, and Weighbridge.
What you will Do:
- Work amongst our community and be a positive public facing ambassador for Orange City Council
- Be an essential part in the community education process relating to waste reduction and appropriate Resource Recovery activities
- Ensure patrons receive all necessary guidance and help to access all of the site facilities
- Undertake cash handling, reconciliation, and accurate data entry
- Determine what products are suitable for the Recovery Shop and in the recovery of saleable items for the Shop and direct household hazardous waste to the appropriate stillage within the CRC
- Carry out roadside clean up as directed

About You:
- Do you have experience in a similar role e.g. customer service or waste services?
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling, using an EFTPOS machine and using a point-of-sale system or equivalent?
- Are you able to undertake a set roster which may require working including weekends and public holidays?

- Weekly Salary: From $656.88 plus allowances, relevant penalty rates (weekend & public holiday) and superannuation
- Hours of work: Permanent part-time, 24 hours per week
