About the role
Orange City Council is seeking motivated and reliable people to join the City Presentation team as Horticulture Assistants. This role suits someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining parks, gardens and public spaces, and is committed to safe, high-quality work. To succeed, you will bring:
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- ChemCert AQF3 Chemical Accreditation or similar, or a willingness to obtain
- Experience in a similar role, such as landscape labouring, plant operation, or garden maintenance
- Experience using plant and equipment, such as tractors with implements, push mowers, brush cutters, and hedge trimmers
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- A sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures
The following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Current Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence
- Certificate II in Horticulture
- Level 1 and 2 Chainsaw Operations certificates
- RMS Traffic Control licences (Blue/Yellow Card)
- Experience operating load shifting plant, such as a backhoe, front end loader, or skid steer.
