Join Orange City Council and be part of a team that helps ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Officer, you'll assist with payroll processing, support employees and supervisors with online timesheets, and contribute to the delivery of a high-quality payroll service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the accurate and timely processing of Council's fortnightly payroll.
  • Support employees and supervisors in the effective use of Council's online timesheet system and payroll processes.
  • Provide practical guidance and support regarding payroll enquiries, employee entitlements and timesheet requirements.
  • Review payroll information and assist in identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee information with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors to support the timely completion and approval of timesheets.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll processes and customer experience.

What You'll Bring

  • Relevant qualification in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a payroll administration or similar role.
  • Experience using payroll systems and Excel.
  • Experience using electronic timesheet and/or workforce management systems
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
