In this role, you will be part of a dynamic group responsible for the assessment and review of over 500 development applications (DA's) per year across an area of approximately 290km2. You will encounter a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial to industrial and rural developments.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager Development Assessment, key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and assessing development applications (DA's).
  • Providing advice on development proposals and land use matters.
  • Conducting on-site inspections of developments and land.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, including the general public, developers, elected representatives, and other Council staff.

 

About you:

  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in town planning.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within Development Assessment 
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Local Government Act, and relevant environmental legislation.
  • High level communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligibility for Corporate membership with the Planning Institute Australia.
