In this role, you will be part of a dynamic group responsible for the assessment and review of over 500 development applications (DA's) per year across an area of approximately 290km2. You will encounter a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial to industrial and rural developments.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager Development Assessment, key responsibilities include:
- Undertake the assessment of development applications and provide advice on development proposals and land use matters
- You will be out and about inspecting developments and land, liaising with the general public, developers, elected representatives and other Council staff and offering advice and assistance as needed.
- Participate in the development of strategic plans and policies as required
About you:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in town planning
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within Development Assessment
- A valid driver's license.
- Extensive Knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, the Local Government Act, and relevant environmental legislation.
- High level communication and problem-solving skills.
- Eligibility for Corporate membership with the Planning Institute Australia.
