About the role

Are you passionate about creating memorable civic events and supporting community initiatives? Orange City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Events Officer to support our dynamic program of civic events and provide essential assistance to community members organizing events at Council venues. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a program of high-quality civic events including Carols by Candlelight, Australia Day, New Year's Eve, New Resident Welcome Events, Citizenship ceremonies and Rainbow Festival.
  • Representing Council as a member of, or advisor to event organising committees
  • Providing guidance to community members/groups applying to host events at Council venues
  • Processing applications to use Council events
  • Supervising the bump-in, execution, and bump-out of civic events

So, what do you need?

  • A Certificate in Events Management, or relevant experience in events management
  • A valid Drivers licence
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage your own work program
